PTI approaches PHC seeking allocation of reserved seats

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) filed a petition on Monday in the Peshawar High Court (PHC) seeking allocation of the reserved seats in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly.

The party has named the Election Commission of Pakistan as a party in the case and has sought an immediate hearing of the matter.

It has been pleaded that the candidates had mentioned the name of the party in their nomination papers so they should be identified as such and allocated reserved seats.

It stated that the party’s nominees for the reserved seats were scrutinised as well, adding that only the Supreme Court can delist the party, not the ECP.

The Imran Khan-founded party won 84 seats out of 113 in KP.
