ISLAMABAD: The district and sessions court of Islamabad has acquitted the PTI founder and other leaders including Asad Umer and Faisal Javed in a case related to protest and vandalism.
Judicial magistrate Muhammad Shabbir issued the release verdict by accepting the bail appeals of the accused.
Lawyers Amina Ali, Sardar Masroof Khan and Mohsin Ghaffar appeared before the court during the hearing.
The court judgement said the accused had filed separate acquittal pleas under section 249A of the constitution. “The accused can’t be indicted in the case and additional trial is mere waste of time,” said the verdict.
It said the acquittal petitions of the PTI founder, Asad Umer and Raja Khurram Shehzad Nawaz had been accepted. The bail pleas filed by Faisal Javed, Abid Hussain and Zaheer Khan also had been been accepted.
The court ordered that Asad Umer, Ali Nawaz Awan and Faisal Javed could get back the surety bonds.
The case of vandalism was registered against the suspects in the Tarnol police station.
