Karachi to host PSL 9 extravaganza with Kings and Islamabad United match

KARACHI: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 9 venue has been shifted to the city of lights from Wednesday with a match between local Kings and Islamabad United at National Stadium tonight.

The match will start at 7 pm.

It will be first match at home ground for Shan Masood-led Karachi which will aim at maintaining their winning streak.

After losing opening match against Multan Sultans, Karachi Kings defeated Peshawar Zalmi and Lahore Qalandars in their next encounters. They are currently at the fourth spot on the points table.

With two victories in three matches, the Kings will be eager to extend their winning streak.

Islamabad United, the other hand, began with an eight-wicket victory over reigning champions Lahore Qalandars. However, they lost their way and faced defeats at the hands of Multan Sultans, Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi.

They are at fifth place on the points table.

The National Stadium has a batting-friendly strip. However, the sea breeze helps swing bowling. The flat surface which used to favour spin in the past is docile now. It also favours the teams batting first, with seven out of 11 matches won by the side setting a target.
