ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly Secretariat on Wednesday issued a notification for the maiden session of the legislative.
“National Assembly session to begin at 10am tomorrow [Thursday],” the notification read.
‘Big decisions’ likely in PML-N, allies huddle today
Ahead of forming a new government, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), and its allies will hold a crucial meeting at the Punjab House today which would be attended by the heads of all coalition parties, Geo News reported citing sources.
PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif will also attend the forthcoming meeting which would be joined by the heads of all coalition parties, including the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), and the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP), the sources said, adding that the prime minister-designate Shehbaz Sharif will host a dinner for the newly-elected lawmakers.
The Nawaz-led party’s Deputy Secretary General Attaullah Tarar said that a joint press conference will be held today at 8:20pm by the heads of the ally parties.
Caretaker Info Minister reviews arrangements for inaugural session of NA
Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi visited the National Assembly Secretariat today and reviewed arrangements for the inaugural session of the National Assembly.
On the occasion, he was given a detailed briefing on the arrangements and the facilitation desk established for the registration of newly elected members of the lower house.
