A week before we spoke in Vegas, Tyson had flown to New York for the first press conference to promote the fight. He returned to the Apollo Theater in Harlem, about four blocks from the old Dapper Dan’s boutique shop, where Tyson punched out the boxer Mitch Green in an impromptu early-morning scuffle in August 1988 after Green confronted him, saying that Don King owed him money.
