لاہور پولیس لائنز قلعہ گجر سنگھ میں انوکھا واقعہ پیش آیا ہے جہاں کانسٹیبل نے ڈانٹ ڈپٹ کرنے پر ڈی آئی جی شہزاد کمال صدیقی کو چھریاں مار کر زخمی کردیا۔ واقعے کے بعد ڈی آئی جی کوہسپتال منتقل کردیا گیا جبکہ پولیس کے اعلیٰ افسران بھی ہسپتال پہنچ گئے۔

ہسپتال ذرائع کا کہنا ہے کہ ڈی آئی جی کی حالت خطرے سے باہر ہے جس کے بعد انہیں ڈسچارج کردیا گیا، بعد ازاں بلڈپریشرکم ہونے پر دوبارہ داخل کرلیا گیا اور پھر طبیعت بہتر ہونے پر انہیں دوبارہ گھر منتقل کردیا گیا۔دوسری جانب ڈی آئی جی شہزاد کمال صدیقی پر حملہ کرنے والے کانسٹیبل رفیق کو قلعہ گجر سنگھ پولیس نے گرفتار کر کے مقدمہ درج کرلیا۔

محمد شعیب خان نے بتایا کہ ملزمان سے بارودی مواد برآمد کرنے کے بعد تحقیقات شروع کر دی گئی ہیں۔ایس پی سٹی نے انکشاف کیا کہ خاتون پشاور اور لاہور میں دہشت گردی کے منصوبوں میں استعمال کی جانی تھی۔

انہوں نے بتایا کہ کچھ وقت سے دھمکیاں مل رہی تھیں جن میں اہم اور حساس مقامات کو دہشت گردی کا نشانہ بنانا شامل تھا تاہم پولیس نے بروقت کارروائی کی اور پشاور اور لاہور بہت بڑی تباہی سے بچ گئے۔

کراچی کے علاقے ناظم آباد کے معروف انو بھائی پارک سے کھدائی کے دوران بڑی تعداد میں انسانی ہڈیاں برآمد ہوئی ہیں تاہم پولیس حکام اسے دہشت گردی کے نتیجے کی بجائے اسپتالوں میں انسانی آپریشن کا فضلہ یعنی میڈیکل ویسٹیج قرار دے رہے ہیں جس کی اسپتال انتظامیہ نے بھی تصدیق کردی ہے۔

ایس ایس پی سینٹرل عارف اسلم راؤ کے مطابق ناظم آباد نمبر 3 میں واقع علاقے کے معروف انو بھائی پارک میں ان دنوں گرین لائن بس منصوبے کے سلسلے میں کھدائی کی جا رہی ہے۔ عارف اسلم کے مطابق اس دوران آج پارک کے مختلف مقامات سے کپڑے کے پراسرار رول اور گھتڑیاں برآمد ہوئیں۔

پولیس کے مطابق تعمیراتی ٹھیکیدار نے ناظم آباد پولیس کو اطلاع دی اور پولیس نے موقع پر پہنچ کر تمام ہڈیاں قبضے میں لے لیں۔ ایس پی سینٹرل عارف اسلم راؤ کے مطابق پارک سے کوئی ایک بھی انسانی ڈھانچہ برآمد نہیں ہوا بلکہ کپڑوں میں لپٹی یا بندھی ہوئی مختلف جسمانی حصوں اور سائز کی ہڈیاں ملی ہیں جو مختلف انداز میں بندھی اور زمین برد کی گئی لگتی ہیں۔

عارف اسلم کے مطابق ہڈیوں کے ابتدائی معائنے سے ہی اندازہ ہوتا ہے کہ یہ اسپتال کا میڈیکل ویسٹیج ہے۔ ایک اور پولیس افسر کے مطابق اس پارک کے ساتھ ہی ہڈی کا معروف نجی اسپتال موجود ہے جس کی انتظامیہ نے ماضی میں مختلف آپریشن کے دوران کاٹے گئے انسانی اعضاء اس پارک میں ٹھکانے لگانے کے سلسلے کی تصدیق کی ہے۔

اسپتال انتظامیہ نے اسے بہت پرانا معاملہ قرار دیا ہے جب اس طرح انسانی اعضاء کو دبا دیا جاتا تھا۔ اسپتال ذرائع کے مطابق اب یہ طریقہ قدیم ہو چکا ہے کیونکہ نئے طریقہ کار کے مطابق اب کاٹے گئے انسانی اعضاء جدید طریقے سے تلف کر دیئے جاتے ہیں۔ ایس ایس پی عارف اسلم کے مطابق تمام ہڈیاں قبضے میں لے کر ان کا میڈیکل معائنہ کرایا جا رہا ہے۔

کانٹے پر برآمد شدہ چھالیہ کا وزن 25ہزار993 کلوگرام نکلا جس کو مبینہ طور پر کسٹمز انٹیلی جنس اور پولیس اہلکاروں نے ملی بھگت سے کاغذات میں صرف 16ہزار93کلوگرام ظاہر کیا۔

بعدازاں پولیس اور کسٹمز اہلکاروں نے مل کر 9900 کلوگرام چھالیہ کو خاموشی سے 50 لاکھ روپے کے عوض بازار میں فروخت کرکے مبینہ طور پر رقم آپس میں تقسیم کرلی۔ ذرائع کے مطابق اسمگل شدہ چھالیہ کو کھارادر پولیس نےجوڑیابازار سے منی ٹرکوں اور سوزوکیوں میں تھانے منتقل کرنے کے بعد کسٹمز انٹیلی جنس کے اینٹی اسمگلنگ ونگ کو اطلاع کی تھی۔

کسٹمز اور پولیس کی ان کالی بھیڑوں کا راز ایک ای میل نے فاش کیا جس کی ایک کاپی جیو نیوز نے حاصل کرکے ڈائریکٹر جنرل کسٹمز انٹیلی جنس زاہد کھوکھر سے رابطہ کیا۔ ڈائریکٹر جنرل کسٹمز انٹیلی جنس زاہد کھوکھر نے بتایا کہ ان کے دفتر میں بذریعہ ای میل اس خرد برد کی اطلاع ملی جس پر انۃوں نے انکوائری کروانے کا حکم دے دیا گیا ہے۔

اسی معاملے پر ڈی آئی جی ساؤتھ شرجیل کھرل سے رابطہ کیا گیا تو ان کا بھی کہنا تھا کہ وہ انکوائری کرکے تفصیلات سے آگاہ کریں گے۔ کراچی میں کسٹمز انٹیلی جنس اور کھارادر پولیس کے منظر عام پر آنے والے لاکھوں روپے کی اسمگل شدہ چھالیہ کو مجرمانہ طور پر لاکھوں روپے میں فروخت کرکے حکومت کے خزانے کو نقصان پہنچانے کے اس کارنامے کی مزید تفصیلات انکوائری مکمل ہونے کے بعد سامنے آنے کی امید ہے مگر اس معاملے نے ان اداروں کے اہلکاروں کی کارکردگی پر سوالیہ نشان لگا دیا ہے۔

ڈی جی کسٹمز انٹیلی جنس زاہد کھوکھر نے مزید کہا کہ ہم ایسے معاملات کی روک تھام کےلیے ٹھوس منصوبہ بندی کر رہے ہیں۔

پولیس کا کہنا ہے کہ گھر پر چھاپے کے دوران دہشتگردوں نے سی ٹی ڈی اہلکاروں پر فائرنگ کر دی جس کے نتیجے میں 2 مبینہ دہشت گردوں کو ہلاک کردیا گیا جب کہ حوالدار نور علی شاہ شہید اور سپاہی جہانگیر زخمی ہوگئے۔پولیس نے بتایا کہ واقعے کی اطلاع ملتے ہی پولیس کی بھاری نفری موقع پر پہنچ گئی اور علاقے کو گھیرے میں لے کر سرچ آپریشن شروع کردیا۔

Parking
Got the tickets? Ready to leave for the National Stadium? You will need to reach one of the different parking spots set up by the Karachi administration, from where the shuttle will transport you to designated points near the stadium.

If you hold tickets for any one of these enclosures: Javed Miandad, Fazal Mehmood, Imran Khan, Zaheer Abbas, Majid Khan and Intikhab Alam, you should park at the Gharib Nawaz Football Ground parking lot located on Dalmia Road. From here, the shuttle will drop you to the designated point located in front of Bahria University, and then you will have to walk to the stadium.

If you have tickets for Naseemul Ghani, Iqbal Qasim, Mohammed Brothers, Wasim Bari, Waqar Hasan, Asif Iqbal, Wasim Akram, Quaid Enclosure and Hanif Mohammed enclosures, you should choose one of the parking points on University Road. These include Expo Centre Gate No. 1, Federal Urdu University Ground, Hakim Saeed Playground, and the ground in front of Baitul Mukaram Masjid. From here, the shuttle will take you to a designated point from where you will have to walk to the stadium.

Here’s how to find out the closest park spot according to your convince.

If you are travelling from New Karachi, Nazimabad, North Nazimabad, Liaquatabad or Orangi you will go from NIPA and Liaquatabad Number 10 to Hassan Square. From there you travel to Hakeem Saeed Ground to park your vehicles. A shuttle will take you from there and drop you off near the Expo Centre.

However, if you’re coming from Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal or Malir, the route that you will take is Drigh Road to Rashid Minhas Road to the Gharib Nawaz Football Ground located near Dalmia Road where you can park your cars and motorcycles. A shuttle will take you to the stadium.

If you’re coming from Defence, Clifton or Korangi area, commuters will have to take Sharah-e-Faisal to Sharah-e-Quaideen to Allahwala Chowrangi, then go to PP Chowrangi to University Road. From University Road you will have to take Hassan Square to the Itwaar Bazaar ground where you can park and a shuttle will take you to the stadium.

There will be special buses to take the elderly and those with special needs to the stadium.

Make sure you carry:
Your ticket, your original CNIC, and a photocopy of the CNIC of the person whose name is mentioned on the ticket (if somebody else among your family/friends bought the ticket). Mobile phones are allowed.

Not allowed:
Any food or drinks, handbags.

Stadium gate timings
Stadium gates will open three hours prior to the match starting time. For matches starting at 7pm, this means the gates will open at 4pm.

Traffic plan

KARACHI: Five suspects were taken into custody on Saturday as police personnel foiled a terror plot targetting New Year Eve in Karachi, Geo News reported.

Police, on a tip off over alleged presence of suspects, raided a place in PIB Colony, where a hand grenade was thrown and shots were fired at the police vehicle. Five suspects were arrested during the raid, and there was no loss of life, a police spokesman said in a statement.

The security forces seized a motorcycle after the operation that was fitted with explosives. Three hand grenades and other weapons were also recovered during the raid.

According to DIG East Zone Aamir Farooq, the suspects were plotting a terrorist attack on New Year Eve. It was, however, too soon to say which militant group was involved in the terror plot, he added.

KARACHI: Two minor boys who passed away earlier in the day apparently died due to poisoning, a representative of the city’s Jinnah Hospital said Sunday night, after the deceased’s post-mortem was completed.

According to Dr Shiraz, the medico-legal officer (MLO) at Jinnah Hospital, a report subsequent to the deceased children’s post-mortem had been reserved. Their deaths look like an incident of poisoning, he said, adding that samples from the bodies and blood specimens had been taken and sent to a laboratory for analysis.

The chemical analysis report from body samples and blood specimens would be released in approximately 5-10 days, Dr Shiraz mentioned, after which the final cause of death could be ascertained.

The dead bodies were handed over to the family, which has planned the funerals for in the afternoon, later today, at Mosque Al-Aisha on Khayaban-e-Ittehad.

Two children, identified as 18-month-old Ahmed and Muhammad, 5, allegedly lost their lives on Sunday afternoon due to food poisoning after consuming substandard food at a restaurant in the city’s Zamzama area.

The minor boys’ mother, Aisha, remains hospitalised.

According to Peer Muhammad Shah, the senior superintendent of police (SSP) for South District, the three — the woman and her two children — had consumed unhygienic food from the restaurant and, prior to that, they had also purchased candies from a stall at a children’s playland in Defence Phase 4.

The woman told Geo News her children first purchased candies from the playland after which they had food at the Zamzama restaurant.

At 6 AM on Sunday morning, their health deteriorated.

Investigation officers stated that the affected family was brought to the hospital by the boys’ maternal uncle and the mother’s brother-in-law at around 3 PM in critical condition, hospital administration had said, adding that the mother was still under treatment but out of danger.

The boys’ father worked in Lahore as a construction contractor.

SSP Shah further said both the eatery and the playland had been sealed and an investigation into the incident was underway. Food samples were also to a laboratory for testing, he stated, adding that the team had also inspected the residence.

Samples of numerous food items that were found at the family’s home were taken as well, Shah said, and the statements from all of the five people present in the house were recorded.

In order to carry out the probe into the matter, a committee has been formed, under the leadership of Shah, the police officer, and including SSP Tariq Dharejo as well as the assistant superintendent of police (ASP) for Clifton.

Consequently, the Sindh Food Authority also sprang into action and visited the restaurant to take samples.
‘Investigating case from all angles’

Karachi police chief Amir Sheikh meanwhile said the case would be probed from all angles. Speaking to the media, he said police would investigate what happened inside the house and that it was “strange” that the children were taken to hospital after considerable delay.

He added that the children complained of nausea at 2 AM but were given milk and sent to bed. The milk samples were also sent for testing, he added.

Three people have been detained in connection with the incident and were being investigated, Sheikh said.

KARACHI: Karachi Police Chief Dr Amir Sheikh on Wednesday announced that strict action will be taken against officers who harass young couples and ask them for marriage certificates.

In a letter written to the deputy inspector-generals (DIGs) of the three zones in Karachi, Dr Sheikh called for immediate action against such police officers.

According to the letter, residents of the metropolis regularly complain that police officers stop couples and inquire about their marriage certificates.

The letter further warned that complaints regarding police officers asking for proof of marriage especially from females should not be heard again.

Dr Sheikh added that strict action will be taken against those police officers deployed at the beach and other places.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan pledged that his government would cut spending, launch sweeping reforms and take austerity measures that affect the welfare of the nation.

In his inaugural address to the nation on Sunday, Prime Minister Khan thanked his supporters and workers for standing by him during his political struggle.

“First of all, I would like to thank my workers who joined my movement and jihad. I want to specially pay tributes to two of my late colleagues, first Ahsan Rashid and Saloni Bokhari. They joined my party during my early days.

“Today, we stand at a point where we must change. I wish to tell you that all my life I’ve been told that one thing or another can’t be achieved. I wish to tell you that I’ll battle out these odds we face today.”

“We have to stand up on our own feet. The way we have been operating, it can not go on. The more debt we are under, the more freedom we lose. ”

“Our national debt has reached at Rs28, 000 billion. The debt we took over the last 10 years has doubled. We are facing a situation where we have to take loans to pay off the interest on our foreign debt.”

“The pressure being faced by rupee is due to foreign debts. On one hand, we are under heavy debt, on the other hand, our human development index is at the lowest in the region.”

According to UN report, we are ranked in five countries where more infant mortality rate is very high.

“In Pakistan, our ruing elite is living a luxurious life. Prime Minister of Pakistan has more than 500 employees. The prime minister uses 80 vehicles. “We have rest houses, chief minister houses, secretaries and dcs and commissioners. They live in big houses.”

“A prime minister spends 650 million on foreign visits. Why do they such expensive visits? Why do they achieve? Do they go there to conquer countries?”

“We have to change our mindset and lifestyle if we have to save our nation. Another problem Pakistan faces is from global warming and climate change. It’s about time we change our mindset and way of life. Our role model of Holy Prophet (pubh). First of all, we have to adhere to rule of law which is vital to change our destiny. Two courts had to face courts of law. ”

Zakat

There was a system of Zakat in the state of Medina. It meas people have to pay progressive taxes, a concept the western nations has adopted. There was system of merit in the state of Medina. Our caliphs used to present themselves for accountability. Rulers were not above the law.”

Conflict of interest

“When Hazrat Umar (RA) became caliph, he shut down his clothing business due to conflict of interest. Now look at our current rulers, who only come into politics to make money.”

Education

Education remains our top priority. The standard of education at government-run schools is very poor. We know how middle class suffers due to lack of quality education in government schools. We will declare education emergency.”

“We will also not forget children who are enrolled in seminaries. We have to make sure that students studying in madrassas also become doctors and engineers.”

“The greatest world leader Holy Prophet (pbuh) used to emphasize on education. The principles of the state of Medina had been adopted by the West. We too need to embrace them to look after our out of school children.”

Pakistan was not established to replace the rich Hindu elite with Muslims. “It was created to protect the marginalized communities.”

“I have learnt one thing in my life and that is not to give up. You have to become my team and I shall prove that we can fix the system.”

PM House to be made university

“I will live in the house of my military secretary. It’s a three-room residence which has only three servants. We will put the cars on auction.”

“We have decided to set up a committee of experts to decide what can be done with governor houses. The Prime Minister House will be converted into a world-class university. We will also form a task force under Dr Ishrat Hussain to make suggestions to cut the spending.”

People should realize that we have to change our mindset. We need a new mindset in naya Pakistan. We have to save the money and spend it on the most underprivileged section of society.

No to begging bowl

“No country can progress through loans. The loan cane be acquired for a short period. We cannot last forever through loans. When we get loans, we compromise our national self respect and integrity.”

“I will feel ashamed of begging to foreign countries. Inshahullah, I shall make the nation stand on its feet. We have to become a great nation. No nation can become great through begging bowls. We have to collect money from our own people.”

“If we want to collect money. Out of 20 crore people, only 8 Lakh people give taxes. There are these people in big cars and homes who don’t pay taxes. The first thing I’m going to do is fix our FBR who people have no faith in to pay tax.

“You have to pay tax for the respect of the nation. You are harming the nation if you don’t pay tax. Look at how some of the poorest are living. How can we stand for this?”

“We have to pay taxes to lift our most under privileged. And I will prove it to you that if we bring these reforms, we will InshAllah never have losses and be in debt.”

“I will also make the nation feel confident that I will protect your money. Your tax will be spent on the awaam. With our austerity measures we will daily tell the nation how much we have saved.”

Task Force

“We are setting up a high-powered Task Force to bring back money laundered abroad from Pakistan.”

“Our biggest issue today is that we don’t have money to keep up with our expenses. We are making a high powered tax force to make sure we bring back the looted money to Pakistan.”

There is a US state department report that 1000 billion was being laundered out of Pakistan. This has done the most damage to us. This is criminal.

“We have to increase our exports as well. Our exports will increase when our government will facilitate all our industries to remove all hurdles for them.

“We will also work to bring investment into the country, make an environment for investment.

“All our embassies globally; we will engage them to engage all overseas Pakistanis and make life easier for them. Especially for our labourers who are abroad, some of our people who are in jails, to give them legal representation.”

Overseas Pakistanis

“I want to especially talk to our overseas Pakistanis. I want you to bring your money to Pakistan. To keep your money in Pakistani banks. ”

“Right now we are short on dollars. There is a huge trade gap right now. We need your remittances via our banking system so we get foreign exchange through our banks.

“To get through this difficult time, I make a special request to overseas Pakistanis to bring some money into Pakistani banks as we as a nation need your help.”

“Corruption; the money that is meant to be spent on the people are instead pocketed and when leadership is corrupt, it ruins all institutions.”

Crackdown on corruption

“This is our biggest problem. I will hold a meeting with NAB’s chairman. We will provide him all the resources he needs at his disposal to go after corrupt elements. We will go after crooks everywhere. The corrupt elements will make a lot of noise but we will no deviate from our mission to tackle corruption”

“We will help NAB in every capacity and also bring an act like the whistle-blower act that we brought in KP; whatever corruption they expose a certain percentage of recovery will be given to them as a reward.”

“SECP will also be fixed because it too was exploited by the corrupt. The FIA will need to be reformed to keep an eye on those who are taking money out.”

“In keeping the Ministry of Interior with myself. Either this country will be lifted or these corrupt be spared. You have to stand by me and never vote those who have stashed their assets abroad.”

Reforms in justice system

“For the common man, we have to bring a system of justice. We will do a meeting with the Chief Justice. There are so many justice issues at the grassroots. People pass away but their cases are never heard.”

“I want to appeal to the Chief Justice that there are many widows whose land has been grabbed; they have been struggling for their cases for years so I request for speedy justice and resolution for each one of them.”

Police reforms

“We have to fix the police system. The crime rate has come down in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa due to police reforms. Nasir Durrani, who was our police chief in KP and led the reforms police, has agreed to help us in Punjab.

” Police is a provincial subject. We cannot directly intervene, but we are ready to work with the Sindh government to improve police performance. We have to address the issue of child abuses. ”

Health

“We will change the management system of government hospitals. We have to fix the health system. We have made a task force which will review it. We will introduce health cards across Pakistan. The poor can go to any hospital and get himself/herself treatment through health insurance.”

Water

“Karachi is facing acute water shortage. Situation is same in Quetta and Islamabad. We will guide our farmers to conserve water resources. But it is crucial to build at least one dam. Bhasha Dam must be built at soon as possible. We will raise funds to construct Bhasha Dam.”

Agriculture

“We have to help our farmers to increase their yield and earn money. And for this purpose, our first priority will be to focus on Agriculture Research.

Civil Service Reforms

“If civil service doesn’t execute government’s policies, how are we going to resolve our issues. There was time when our civil services was one of the world’s best. Dr Ishrat Hussain will carry out reforms in civil services. There will be no political interference. We will give you complete respect. The common man needs to be respected by the civil servants. We will give bonuses to departments which perform well and those who don’t will be penalized.”

LG system

“We devolved power at grass-root level in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through our local government system. We will introduce a new local government system to directly elect nazims. Nowhere in the world, MNAs/MPAs are given funds for development purpose. They can identity areas but they cannot be given funds. ”

“We have to build new playgrounds and parks for people. It is the right of our women and children to go to park and relax.”

Plantation

“We have to plant billions of saplings across Pakistan. We took the initiative in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. “We have to replicate it in rest of the country. We will run new campaigns to plant trees with the help of our youth.”

“We have to launch cleanliness drive in Karachi and rest of Pakistan and tackle the issue of pollution. In five years, Pakistan should be transformed into a clean and green nation.”

Tourism

“We are going to open new resorts every years to promote tourism in this country. We will develop beaches where our people could go. ”

Police need to be revamped in Karachi. We need to carry out cleanliness campaign in Karachi. We will set up deslination plants in Karachi.

National Action Plan

The 20-point national action plan (NAP), agreed by all political parties, will be implemented. We cannot progress without combating terrorism.”

Foreign policy

“Our priority is to talk to our neighbours and restore peace in the region. Many leaders have phoned me. We will talk to them and discuss how can we restore peace in the region. We should have better relations with our neighbours.”
